While I offer plenty of reviews of banks around the country and try to keep you, my esteemed readers, informed on where you can find the highest interest rates and fewest fees, today I’m going to focus on making a checklist of the newest tools and technologies you should look for in a new bank.
Mobile banking
Mobile banking is not the wave of the future – it’s already here. From transferring funds while you’re commuting to depositing checks from the comfort of your couch, banking from your smartphone is the pinnacle of convenience. However, convenience isn’t the only benefit of using a mobile banking app. You can also monitor your account balances more closely to ensure you aren’t drifting below any minimum balance requirements. Some apps even allow you to program alerts if you do fall below a certain cash threshold.
Person-to-person payments
If you’re like me, you wind up splitting bills with a roommate and splitting dinner with friends all the time. Some big banks offer simple person-to-person payments that allow you to transfer funds easily and efficiently.
